DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. (WMC/Gray News) – A high school teacher in Mississippi is accused of ‘making out’ with a student, according to authorities.
According to an affidavit from the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, 31-year-old Natalia Wright, a former teacher at Lewisburg High School, committed acts of “licentious sexual desires” with a child under the age of 18.
During the acts, Wright was a special education teacher at Lewisburg during the 2024-25 school year.
In addition to teaching the victim, she was also the student’s tutor.
Wright’s husband allegedly obtained footage and audio recording of her admitting to kissing the student on multiple occasions while tutoring the student.
Additional witnesses observed Wright kissing and “making out” with the student at multiple locations on April 21, which included the parking lot of a Taco Bell and the Longview Point Baptist Church.
She resigned from the school on April 3 due to “inappropriate contact with the victim, which included physical touching, communication, and driving the child to school in her personal vehicle multiple times.”
She was arrested on Tuesday, May 12, on a $200,000 bond and was charged with “fondling by person of position of trust.”
Wright is due in court on June 6.
